2010 Year End Review
With the clock ticking toward the close of 2010, we look ahead to what 2011 has in store. It’s natural that during this time of year many are looking forward and making personal goals for 2011.
Goal setting can be a powerful process for thinking about your ideal future and for motivating yourself to turn this vision into a reality.
Here are some guidelines that will help you set effective goals:
•
Be precise – Set specific goals with dates, times and amounts that can be measured and evaluated.
•
Set priorities – If you have numerous goals, or a goal with several facets, set priorities to give the most important aspects more attention and avoid feeling overwhelmed.
•
Write goals down – Seeing your goal in print can help make it more official.
•
Set goals that you can control – Make sure you have as much control as possible over the outcome of your goal. In other words, don’t set a personal goal for world peace of which you have very little control.
•
Set goals that are realistic – Take care to set goals that are obtainable. If you weigh 300 pounds, don’t set a goal to lose 100 pounds in a month!
