Landstar Safety Officer 101
Every Landstar agency is required to designate a LSO (Landstar Safety Officer) in support of accident prevention, cargo loss prevention and regulatory compliance. Each LSO is responsible to establish and maintain awareness and support of Landstar initiatives.
LSOs play a critical role in the success of Landstar’s safety performance. Some of the responsibilities involve:

Safety and compliance through Complete & Accurate Dispatch procedures

Proper handling of high risk commodities
|
|
•
|
Participation in M.U.S.T., the Safety Thursday Conference Call and other safety meetings
|

•
|
BCO Retention
|
|
•
|
Training and education of the agency staff
|
Each month one LSO is recognized for his or her efforts and named as the LSO of the Month! Those 12 then become candidates for the prestigious title of LSO of the Year!
