A3i isn’t an IT company that jumped into logistics. We started with logistics and created an IT solution.
Lorne Darnell, A3 Integration President and CEO
has more than 25 years’ experience in the software and logistics industries. He is the former CEO and co-founder of LogiCorp Inc., the first non-asset based, third-party logistics management company in automotive manufacturing. Early on in Lorne’s career he worked in various management positions at Ford Motor Company and Rockwell International, serving as president of Rockwell’s Logistics Business Unit.

In 1995, Lorne co-founded and served as president of Data TV Networks, Inc., a software company dedicated to the development of interactive solutions for digital TV. The company’s first product, the Home Preview Channel is the nation’s first TV Multi-List channel serving the real estate industry.
In 1998, Lorne co-founded and served as president of e-Chemicals Inc., an electronic commerce company providing Internet-based supply chain management solutions. The company was acquired in 2000 by AspenTech.
In 2003, Lorne founded A3i, a supply chain solutions provider for customers who could benefit from software-as-a-service (SaaS).In 2009, Landstar became the principal investor in A3i and currently holds a controlling interest in the company.

Meet the Team
The Chief Operating Officer Michael Caruso has operated and consulted on domestic and import/export supply chain projects throughout the world since 1992. He holds an M.B.A. in International Business from Wayne State University and a B.A. in Business Management from Eastern Michigan University.
The Chief Technology Officer Dr. Ravi Muppirala has over 20 years of experience in IT encompassing enterprise data center and IT infrastructure implementation and maintenance, programming and system administration. Prior to joining the A3i team, Dr. Muppirala held various positions with Yahoo, General Motors, Hewlett Packard, SONY, Capgemini and EDS as well as with universities such as University of Michigan, Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Muppirala holds a Ph. D. in Chemistry from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) in Mumbai, a M.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry and a B.E. (Hons.) in Chemical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India. He has published numerous papers in refereed journals and delivered presentations in both Enterprise and Academic settings. Dr. Muppirala has won several national & international awards.
Director of Operations John de Jesus is a19 year veteran of the logistics and transportation industry. In addition to responsibilities primarily with 3PLs in the automotive industry, he has held a variety of positions including logistics engineer, project manager, supply chain consultant, and most recently, Director of Customer Logistics for Ryder Systems, Inc. He has developed, presented and implemented complex supply chain solutions for multiple clients in Asia, Europe, and multiple locations throughout North America.
John de Jesus holds a B.S. degree in Business Logistics from Pennsylvania State University. He is an active member of Association for Operations Management (APICS), Council Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) and Project Management Institute(PMI).
Director of Program Management Michael Mazzola has more than 10 years of program and project management experience in executing and delivering all phases of a project from pre-sales through deployment. He has a proven track record in successfully managing projects, leading people, building client/vendor relationships, and overseeing technology programs.
Before joining A3i, Mazzola was the Global Logistics Program Manager at EDS (an HP Company) and Senior Project Manager at Vector SCM. He holds a B.A. in Marketing from Michigan State University and has been a Project Management Professional (PMP) member since 2005.
