Safety Thursdays
The National Safety Council defines Defensive Driving as: “Driving to save lives, time and money in spite of the conditions around you and the actions of others.” Defensive driving is making a habit of avoiding collisions and citations in spite of how others are driving and the driving conditions. Landstar holds Defensive Driving Class (DOC) every Tuesday and Thursday at the Orientation Centers.
Each month, Landstar holds a Safety Thursday Conference Call and various safety events at agencies and truckstops across the country. Every faction of the Landstar family participates in monthly safety programs — including our President and CEO, BCOs, agents, employees, third party capacity providers, state and federal DOT officials and other interested parties.
Landstar’s Safety Thursday Conference Call is always on the third Thursday of the month at 12:00p.m. ET. Everyone is invited to participate. On Safety Thursday, dial – 877-717-5921.
